About Us

Welcome To Dundee u3a,Scotland

Dundee u3a has been active for over 30 years and is proud to be one of the longest running groups in Scotland alongside Perth & Edinburgh. We have over 40 interest groups and welcome new members.

There is no minimum age, but a focus on people who are no longer in full-time employment or raising a family .(eg retired, non employed or employed part time, with spare time to be involved in our interest groups )Our founders envisaged a collaborative approach with peers learning from each other. The u3a movement was to be self-funded, with members not working towards qualifications but learning purely for pleasure. There would be no distinction between the learners and the teachers – everyone could take a turn at being both if they wished.

The charity number for Dundee U3a is SC022156

The University of the Third Age (U3a) is a network of learning groups for older people to share their interests, knowledge, and skills. All U3as are charitable organizations, and their committee members are trustees who must comply with charity law. U3as are self-funded through membership subscriptions, and they only seek outside financial assistance if it won't compromise the integrity of the U3a movement.
