Our Philosophy Group this year is reading "Nasty, Brutish and Short, Adventures in Philosophy ,with kids" by the American philosopher Scott Hershovitz.
The author uses the conversations he has with his young children, Rex and Hank, to help the reader understand many aspects of life. Revenge, Punishment, Truth, Mind and Infinity are some of the twelve subjects which Scott Hershovitz addresses.
The book is easily readable and often amusing.
The classes are held in Douglas Community Centre every Monday 2-4 pm and the first class of the session starts on 8 September 2025 and stops for a Christmas break on 24 November and runs until June 2026.
At present we have no vacancies and one person on a waiting list.
