This session we will meet every second Friday in Broughty Ferry Library
from 1000 until 12 noon starting on Friday 4 th September 2026.
If we are not at the library we shall travel to photo opportunities in the local
area, often just in Broughty Ferry and around and about or the V&A or
local to the Ferry and last session we visited the Westhaven near
Carnoustie.
No outings have been planned yet, but we will have a few based upon
members’ interests and any opportunities that occur.
During our meetings we last session we covered several topics including
close-up photography, how your camera works and some simple
processing which uses the free app Snapseed which can be done on
either your phone or tablet.
Group members have photographed at U3A events. Their pictures have
been published on our Facebook page and used for publicity purposes by
U3A. (See the U3A pop-up banner!)
We communicate using the Digital Photography Group WhatsApp page
each week and publish information about outings and items of interest to
members via the Group page.
If you would like to come along, please look at this session’s syllabus.
We are having a different approach this session. For the first part of our
meeting we will all take pictures on a common theme, then discuss them
and in the second part of our meeting we will cover a topic of general
photographic interest or a helpful technique.
Please come along if you would like to develop your interest in
photography. We are a friendly bunch and remember the best camera that
you have is the one you have with you when you see the perfect picture!
